L and Light are in bed and L is having trouble sleeping. When he finally does fall asleep he starts having nightmares.

As L dozed off to sleep he remembered why he didn’t like sleeping. The memories of a traumatic childhood haunted him once again.

The early morning light was beginning to shine through the small window, and L noticed how it glistened off of Light's hair. The insomniac had been up for hours, since two o' clock if specifics are concerned, but he didn't want to leave the comfortable spot he'd obtained next to the younger man.
